You’ve Got to Get Low, the song I cowrote with my friend Bill Pasch, is now available for purchase through Augsburg Fortress publishers. You’ve Got to Get Low was inspired by my film Get Low, from which it gets its theme of repentance and humility. Bill came up with the tune, we worked on the lyrics together, and the result is a great song for congregational worship.
You’ve Got to Get Low was written for SATB (soprano, alto, tenor, bass) singing without accompaniment, but it is accessible to a range of talent levels and is fun to sing. It can also be sung with keyboard accompaniment. While You’ve Got to Get Low is most appropriate for Lent, it is appropriate in any worship featuring themes of repentance, humility, even preparation times such as Advent. And you can’t beat the price of this song either: only $1.50!
