The weather is cooling, the air is growing crisper, and fall feels just around the corner. But this fall feels different. I’m not thinking about football or my usual fall activities. Instead, it’s a new season for me: book signing season!
Last Friday night I had a book signing at Interiors by Consign in Huntsville, AL, and it was fantastic. The crowd was great. There was a nice blend of folks who were store regulars and folks who came because they were interested in Uncle Bush’s Live Funeral. I also signed a fair number of Get Low DVD’s, which was both surprising and awesome. I didn’t see that coming, so I’ll be ordering more of those for sure.
Next up is the Decatur Book Festival. I cannot express how excited I am about this festival! Decatur is the largest independent book festival in the country and one of the five largest of any type. Being on a panel in Decatur is a tremendous honor, and I’m very excited. I will be speaking on Sunday, Sept. 6 at 5:00 p.m. in the auditorium of the Courtyard by Marriott in Decatur.
Here’s a list of upcoming public events and signings:
- Sun. Sept. 6, 5:00 p.m. Decatur Book Festival! I’ll be on a nonfiction panel at the Courtyard by Marriott Decatur in their Conference Center Auditorium, signing to follow.
- Sat. Sept. 19, 2-5:00 p.m. at Cades Cove Cellars in Townsend, TN. These folks make great wine, check them out on Facebook!
- Sat. Sept. 19, 7:00 p.m. will be a screening of Get Low in Loudon, TN, at the Lyric Theater, signing to follow.
- Sun. Oct. 4, 12:30 p.m. is a public Book Launch Party at my church, Lutheran Church of the Incarnation in Marietta, GA.
Also, there is a possibility that I could have a radio interview coming up. It’s still in the works, so we’ll have to see if it happens or not. If it does, I might have to get a shirt in a color other than white. It’s a big deal, even though it’s radio.
For now, that’s the complete list of signings and appearances, though I fully expect it to grow in the coming weeks. I hope you can attend one of these, and look forward to seeing you on tour.
